Most Unbelievable Celeb Illness?

, but we were still surprised to hear that she was hospitalized Monday night for “exhaustion” following a 911 call placed from her home. “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends,” Moore’s rep said in a statement. We all know that in Hollywood speak, “exhaustion” is usually code for, well, something else — and sources tell TMZ that Moore is being treated for substance abuse. Moore has certainly had a rough few months — she filed for divorce from husband Ashton Kutcher in November after six years of marriage amid infidelity rumors. And some celebs insist that they really were “exhausted” — like Tracy Morgan, who was taken to the hospital after collapsing earlier this week. From Moore to Morgan to Lindsay Lohan, click through our slideshow and let us know: Which celeb had the most unbelievable “illness”?

Was Demi Moore Suffering From A Seizure When She Was Hospitalized?

it was pretty obvious weeks ago that she was way too thin. Too badshe is stressing and so panicked because Ashton, who is SO not worth it, broke up., He is a slob. Sometimes when you are anorexic, it affects your heart. If she was taking sleeping pills or some other “medication” it would really mess her up.People think she was drunk. I don’t I think Demi collapsed from the anorexia, heart problems and probably “over- medicating.” She is lucky to be alive. I hope this is her wake up call that she will really start to appreciate herself and not think she is the loser because Ashton cheated. He is a pig. He reminds me of KFed.

Demi and Ashton, and Madonna and Sean, were talking and hanging out. Ashton and Demi didn’t arrive together, or spend the whole night together, but it was 100 percent normal. There wasn’t an issue.”

'Aspen Was the Final Straw' for Heidi Klum & Seal, Sources Say

Heidi Klum by Bob BekianWhile on vacation, Klum hit a point where she was “done with the arguing,” the second source says. “She doesn’t want to fight anymore and thinks it’s better to separate before their arguing starts to affect their kids.” Despite what was going on behind closed doors, people who are used to seeing Klum, 38, and Seal, 48, in the celeb-friendly ski town didn’t necessarily notice signs of trouble. “They seemed very happy together,” one photographer tells PEOPLE of the pair, who are now grieving their relationship. “They couldn’t stop kissing and cuddling. They spent a lot of time with their kids, but also managed to sneak in several solo ski runs together. If they were having problems, they were definitely not showing during the day.” Another source, who described the vacationing couple as “playful,” says they were “talking and seemingly very much in love.” Still, when they failed to show up for the opening of new hotspot the Regal Watering Hole, where they had reserved a table, a source says it raised eyebrows. • Reporting by Pernilla Cedenheim, Troy Hooper and Johnny Dodd

Then you realize at the end of the day they’re two human beings who probably have problems just like everybody else.”

Sideshow: Klum: Model union is kaput | Philadelphia Inquirer | 2012-01-24

Throaty, rockin’ chanteuse Joan Osborne announced the first leg of her North American tour to promote her forthcoming vintage-blues album Bring It on Home – and, h’ray!, it’s coming through World Cafe Live on April 6. She’s also doing a “Free at Noon” for our hero(in)es over at WXPN. Details to come. . . . Is Chris Brown back with Rihanna? Rumors erupted with reports that he and she were (separately) at the exact same L.A. drinkery/dancery, Greystone Manor, on Sunday. But, dang, those rumors were cruelly stamped False, and Shut Up, when Brown’s rep told the world he was with his gf, Karrueche Tran. . . . Football and baseball guy Deion Sanders – that man does know how to look good in a suit – is divorcing Pilar Biggers-Sanders, and he says to her, sweetly: “Get out of the %#@& house!” She’s still there, and he’s going to court in Texas to encourage her expeditious egress. He says she has to, according to their prenup. She says she was duped into signing it. Stay tuned. . . . Kevin Federline, famed ex of Britney Spears, was taken to the hospital in Australia Monday after a pickup football game. K-Fed has put on mad weight, yo, and he experienced some heart distress. He’s filming a reality TV show titled Excess Baggage. . . . Just after New Year’s, the healthier, slimmer Aretha Franklin, 69, announced she was getting married to Willie Wilkerson. She was running around to Donna Karan and Vera Wang, getting fitted for dresses, talking a summer wedding in Miami or the Hamptons. Now, pfffft . . . “Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time,” Monday’s announcement said.

The 65 Hottest Pics Of Heidi Klum: A Review

Aside from an unfortunate duplication (photos 9 and 20) that actually knocks it down to a mere 64 hot pics of Heidi Klum, the Brobible selection is an admirable effort. The inclusion of a fully nude photo is a coup, as is this one of Klum dressed as a German farmgirl with an apparent milk mustache (how mischievous when presented in a different context than intended!). Oscar nominations 2012: year of the 'feel-good' nominee (+video)

Nostalgia-laden efforts such as “The Artist,” and “Hugo,” mirror predictable cycles both in the industry and a society looking for a haven in troubled times, says Chris Auer, chair of the film and television department at Savannah College of Art and Design. “These filmmakers are all getting older and are dealing with more family-related issues themselves,” he says, pointing to Martin Scorsese, whose wife reportedly asked him to make a film that his own children could go see. That film, of course, turned out to be "Hugo."

Steven Tyler joins the club of national anthem bunglers [video]

Steven Tyler Not Leaving Aerosmith, Joins Joe Perry Onstage by stevegarfieldTyler's national anthem foul-up isn't the first time an unwitting celebrity has strayed into the unforgiving jaws of the Francis Scott Key-John Stafford Smith tune. It's long been described as a notoriously difficult anthem to sing, with many singers preferring the more easy-going "America the Beautiful." But if we went with an easy song, then there would be no way to separate the merely good singers from the great singers and if there's anything an "Idol" judge should appreciate, it's a challenge.

About Steven's scarf

Sturbridge resident Kerry McCormack’s personality is exactly like the scarf she loaned rocker Steven Tyler for his much-discussed rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at yesterdays’ AFC Championship game at Gillette Stadium – sparkling. The bright scarf, with sequins aplenty, was viewed by millions on television. Ms. MCormack is an artist who works part-time in a reception area at Gillette Stadium, among other jobs. “I’m overwhelmed this morning,” said Ms. McCormack. “It was insane.” She met the Aerosmith singer before the Patriots-Ravens game. Mr. Tyler and his fianc?e were some of the first guests to arrive at a pre-game function at the stadium yesterday. Ms. McCormack was dressed nicely for the game since she was working at the reception area in the administration building. She knew she could not wear a Patriots sweatshirt to work, so she wore a red-sequined sweater her mother gave her for Christmas. She thought it would be really fun to wear a red scarf she designed – complete with Patriots logos fashioned with hundreds of blue sequins. “It was absolutely crazy,” Ms. McCormack said. She chatted with the rocker’s fianc?e Erin for a few moments after greeting the couple. Shortly after, Erin and Mr. Tyler came back down so Erin could show him the sparkly scarf that caught her eye. “She brought Steven back, and she said, ‘This is the scarf I was talking about,’” Ms. McCormack said. “He asked me if he could borrow it.” Ms. McCormack said he told her he promised to bring it back. A deal was struck when Ms. McCormack asked Mr. Tyler to autograph the scarf. He obliged, writing, “Kerry, I owe you. Steven Tyler.” “It was so much fun,” Ms. McCormack said. “He’s very down to earth; he’s very sweet.”

Should I go for Unmarried partner or marriage visa? and some questions. Help pls

Hannah's ex-boyfriend by mattzorHi, I’ve been searching here and everywhere but haven’t found the exact answers yet. Please can somebody out there help me? My background; I’m Thai, been living with my English boyfriend in the same building in London for 1.5 yrs. (We’ve known each other for 4 yrs. We can prove this.) I understand that the 2 year period is essential so we’ll apply for the visa when we completed 2 yrs of living together. I’m holding a general student visa at the moment, which means I can’t work. I have 7 months left on my visa and we intend to settle down here together but don’t wanna get married just yet. We can prove.. -a joint bank account(open in 2009) -proof of living in the same place. -an IELTS English test result(for me) -evidence that we’ve known each other for 4 yrs. My questions are; 1) My partner loves travelling so much. Can he go travelling for a few months sometimes after(if) I got the visa? (Does the 90 day rule apply to him as well?) 2)As I’m a student and I can’t work.. Our asset is quite low My partner is self-employed at the moment. He can manage to have around 12K in the account by the time we apply. Maybe I can do 2K from my savings. Should we put them all in our joint account? or should we separate? would it look better? and is this amount ok for the visa? I’m just finger-crossed. 3)Do all of this look ok to go for Unmarried partner visa? Should we get married? Which one is easier to be granted? My partner said he would marry me if we had to, but we just wanna wait for when things are ready. Thank you very much indeed for your help!! guys!! Thank you.

Apartment rental scam: I was lucky

When you’re looking at apartment rental listings online – whether it’s a vacation rental or something more long-term – being scammed is everyone’s worst nightmare. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s a tough reminder to always be cautious when putting your trust and your money in the hands of a stranger. Most of us know how to protect ourselves from being scammed, but as long as there are scam artists online, there will always be victims. Just a few days ago, I found myself in the middle of an apartment rental scam. My boyfriend is an architect and landed a -month job placement in Stuttgart, Germany. I decided to join him, and will be moving to Stuttgart next week. We needed to find a place to live, so I started looking at listings on a German website called ImmobilienScout24 – using Google Chrome’s translate function to read the website in English. I found a relatively cheap apartment located in my desired neighbourhood and wrote a message to the owner. The “owner,” Pedro Alvaro, wrote back and explained that since he was currently living in London, we would have to complete the transaction by wire transfer. He would then mail me the keys and paperwork. Red flags went off, and I didn’t reply.   Meanwhile, I had contacted two other owners about apartment listings on the same website. But to my surprise, they both replied with the same introductory e-mail as Pedro had. I immediately blocked their e-mail addresses from my Gmail account and reported their listings and e-mail addresses to the ImmobilienScout24 website. I consider myself to be a smart and cautious online shopper, but I can see how easy it would be for a scam like this to succeed. Here are a few things to keep in mind in order to avoid becoming a victim of a rental scam: Make sure the apartment exists. I cringe every time I read a horror story of travelers who have paid in advance for a place to stay, only to get to their destination to find that the apartment doesn’t even exist. Make sure to get the exact address of the apartment, and check Google street view to make sure the building matches the photos advertised. Conduct a thorough online search. It’s a good idea to do a Google search for the renter’s name, e-mail address, phone number, and address of the apartment listing. Even if you don’t suspect anything, it’s better to take a few minutes to be completely sure, than to find out the hard way. A good resource to start with is ScamWarners.com’s rental scam forum.  Find a realtor or broker. In many cities, it is common for real estate companies to also handle apartment rentals – in exchange for a commission, paid for by the renter. Go online and research reputable real estate companies in the city you’re interested in. See what people are saying about the company on websites, forums, and travel review blogs. Be extremely wary of realtors or brokers who use web-based e-mail addresses such as Gmail or Yahoo. Go see the apartment. Before you sign any papers or hand over your money, make sure you see the apartment. You will need to check the neighbourhood, features, amenities, and condition of the apartment. If you are moving from out of town, ask a friend or family member, your employer, or an acquaintance to check out the apartment for you. If the landlord cannot show the apartment, stating that they’re out of the country, it might be a scam.  Never wire transfer money. There is no reason to wire money to pay a security deposit, commission amount, or first and last month’s rent. Sending money by wire transfer is exactly like sending cash – once you’ve sent it, you can’t get it back. The same can be said for a cashier’s cheque or money order. And like the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Have you ever been a victim of an online rental scam? Elizabeth Smart to speak in Birmingham

Eventually, with a clue revealed by Elizabeth’s 9 year old sister, Mary Katherine, a suspect was named, Brian David Mitchell. With the help of John Walsh and his show America’s most wanted, an alert biker told police of a possible sighting.  On March 12, 2003, 9 months after her abduction, Elizabeth was found in Sandy, Utah, about 18 miles from her home. Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Ilene Barzee were arrested and eventually sentenced to life in prison.

Elizabeth Smart's Not Afraid

Does this mean, going forward, Smart is stuck in her survivor role? And should she be? “Sadly, Elizabeth’s life was defined forever by her perpetrators,” says Babs De Lay, herself an incest and rape survivor who serves on the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault board. De Lay knows the value of speaking out about rape. Annual productions of The Vagina Monologues, which De Lay spearheads locally, focus on rape and violence against women. “Many years ago, I heard a report on PBS on Bosnian women who were rape victims. One woman alone had been brutalized for days, by soldiers and objects, and also watched her family slowly murdered for the soldiers’ ‘fun.’ I personally can’t imagine how you would heal from that kind of experience,” she writes in an e-mail.

Obama sings Al Green. How did he do? (+video)

Yet this approach shows his political weakness. It was cool, analytic, and not passionate enough. Why didn’t he make a more forceful choice, such as Green’s “You Ought to Be With Me?” That would have showed more fire in the belly for the coming campaign. Come to think of it, he could have sung Green’s “Full of Fire.” That would have gotten the message across.

Source: Christian Science Monitor

Barack Obama sings Al Green, but he isn't the first president to serenade public

Among them: –RICHARD NIXON. He was no Billy Joel. And yet twice in 1974, in the last months of his doomed administration, the President Who Was Not a Crook became the President Who Was the Piano Man. He played “God Bless America” at the Grand Ole Opry, and the same tune when he accompanied singer Pearl Bailey in the East Room of the White House. The two also conspired on “Home on the Range” and “Wild Irish Rose.” ”You don’t play as well as I sing,” Bailey joked, “but I don’t sing as well as you govern.” She was half right. Nixon also appeared on TV with Jack Paar in 1963, and played a little concerto of his own devising. Nixon said this would put the kibosh on his political career: “The Republicans don’t want to another piano player in the White House,” he said. –HARRY TRUMAN. Nixon was referring to “Give ‘em Hell Harry,” a Democrat who could never pass a piano without sitting down to play a few bars. In 1952, Truman conducted a nationally televised tour of the newly renovated White House and played a bit on the 1938 Steinway. The building had been condemned when a leg of piano played by his daughter Margaret, a singer whose talent was of some dispute, crashed through the floor of the decrepit mansion. Truman also played for Joseph Stalin and Winston Churchill at the Potsdam Conference, neither shortening nor lengthening World War II appreciably. The man did love the piano: “My choice early in life was either to be a piano-player in a whorehouse or a politician,” he once said. “And to tell the truth, there’s hardly any difference.” –THOMAS JEFFERSON. He played the violin, and not just to meet women (though that is how he came to know his harpsichord-playing wife, Martha). When he wasn’t writing the Declaration of Independence or rewriting the Bible or inventing a four-sided music stand for string quartets, he made music. He played the cello and clavichord, but the violin was his instrument, and he was a ringer for several orchestras. Though often in need of money, he always refused payment. –BILL CLINTON. William Jefferson Clinton, not yet president, took a giant step in that direction in June 1992 when he showed up with a saxophone and wraparound sunglasses to play “Heartbreak Hotel” on “The Arsenio Hall Show.” ”It’s nice to see a Democrat blow something besides the election,” quipped the host. After he won the presidency, Clinton played with E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons at an inaugural ball. He also took a moment from an East European tour in 1994 to climb the stage of Prague’s Reduta Jazz Club and play “My Funny Valentine” and “Summertime.” At one point he invited Czech leader Vaclav Havel to join him; this would be remembered in political and musical history as the Two Presidents Gig. –Many other chief executives performed, though not necessarily in public. John Quincy Adams played the flute, Chester Arthur the banjo, Woodrow Wilson the violin. Franklin Roosevelt liked to sing. And John Tyler — of “Tippecanoe and Tyler, too” fame — organized his 15 children in a White House minstrel band. Historian Elise Kirk says this probably included banjo, bones, drums and guitar. Plus a country fiddle. Mercifully, no videos exist. ___ News Researcher Rhonda Shafner contributed to this report. _Copyright 2012 The Associated Press._

Shoeless wonder: Manhattan Beach distance runner Patrick Sweeney's road less …

Manhattan Panorama by satosphere“Setting the Guinness Book of World Records is right up there with winning the Manhattan Beach 10K,” Sweeney exclaimed. “However, if you’re going to attempt to set that world record, you should not choose to do it on the sands of Hermosa orManhattan Beach. Our sands are brutal. The event is really about raising money for the schools in Hermosa Beach. Christian Burke and I have a friendly rivalry and it was nice to beat his record and I look forward to going head-to-head against him this year. It’s an event that suits me. There are probably many ultra-marathoners out there that would have trouble competing in the sand. Even though the terrain is relentless, I still believe completing 100 miles is a possibility. I’m hoping my body will be in shape to make that happen.”

The victory improved the Jaspers to 12-7 and their league record to 5-2, just one game behind the first-place Iona Gaels. Manhattan played well on both ends of the floor in its last outing, as it shot 44.3 percent from the field and held Siena to a field goal percentage of just 33.3. First year head coach Steve Masiello has emphasized a focus on the defensive end as his team is the second best in scoring defense in the MAAC, allowing just 64.3 ppg.

I thought there would be more people. I guess it’s too cold for people to hang out,” said Ade Berri, 30, of the Upper East Side, who at one point was the only person waiting to see Obama at the upscale East 65th Street restaurant Daniel, where he attended a dinner with Jewish leaders.

Builders: Keep settlements secret in NY crane fall

The settlements are the first in a thicket of lawsuits surrounding the disaster in March 2008, when a nearly 200-foot-tall crane toppled onto a block near the United Nations headquarters, killing the six workers and a woman visiting the city from Florida. A lawsuit for the woman is still open, as are various cases filed by people who were injured, people whose property was damaged and others.

Woody Allen has had quite a run lately. First, the neurotic New Yorker had the biggest box office hit of his career with last summer’s Midnight in Paris. Now there’s a good chance he’ll be nominated for a couple of Oscars for it. Plus, two of his most beloved films are making their Blu-ray debuts: Annie Hall (1977, PG, 1 hr., 33 mins.) and Manhattan (1979, R, 1 hr., 36 mins.). After he cranked out a string of gag-packed comedies like Sleeper and Bananas, Annie Hall was Allen’s first stab at something deeper. The laughs still come at a rat-a-tat clip (see: his cocaine sneezing fit and anti-Semite Grammy Hall’s ”dynamite ham”), but the former stand-up comic finally had more on his mind than slapstick. His onscreen romance with offscreen partner Diane Keaton is touching and true — never more so than when the couple finally realize that their relationship is doomed (”I think what we’ve got on our hands is a dead shark”). After a gloomy detour with 1978′s Interiors, Allen reteamed with Keaton for Manhattan. And if you’ve never seen the film’s opening four minutes — a glorious black-and-white tribute to Gotham set to Gershwin’s ”Rhapsody in Blue,” do yourself a favor. The rest of the film, in which Allen is torn between Keaton’s high-strung intellectual and an age-inappropriate high school student played by Mariel Hemingway, is just as unforgettable. Not that Allen agrees. Last spring, he told EW that he’d always thought Manhattan was overrated. The man’s entitled to his opinion, but he’s wrong. My only beef with the new discs is their lack of Extras beyond the films’ trailers. To paraphrase Annie Hall, the bonus features are terrible…and such small portions. Still, both films earn an A.

Tech/media drives Manhattan office market

Featuring the likes of social media firms FourSquare and Mashable, online advertiser Yodle and computer software company AppNexus, the technology/media industry has become a powerful tenant force in Manhattan that has given Midtown South — long an afterthought market — the lowest vacancy rate in the nation. Just a few years ago, the market and its older buildings were considered a fall-back when a tenant was squeezed out or couldn’t afford to be in Midtown.

Should I go for Unmarried partner or marriage visa? and some questions. Help pls

my name rings bells by FoxtongueHi, I’ve been searching here and everywhere but haven’t found the exact answers yet. Thank you very much indeed for your help!! guys!! Thank you.

Genetics can contribute to family members' struggle with mental illness

Bakish, who previously taught at the University of Ottawa and worked at the Royal Ottawa Hospital, notes that when profiling patients in the emergency room, “we would look at those with that weight towards suicide very carefully before discharging them. And in my clinical practice now, we treat patients who have had a previous suicide attempt and have someone in the family who had a suicide attempt much more aggressively.”

In Phu Quoc, Vietnam, Tranquillity Off the Tourist Trail

“The Russians are coming,” Conrad had told us, as we lingered over grilled squid, spring rolls, shredded mango salad and Phu Quoc’s signature fish sauce, which is the island’s main export. “And money talks,” he said, referring to a rumored new port that would accommodate the mega-yachts of Russian oligarchs. In Phu Quoc’s schools, he said, the first language children learn is Vietnamese, the second is English and the third is Russian, a reflection of the increasing number of well-off Slavic tourists drawn to the island.
