With NBA lockout over, the Nets have work to do
3. Sign a power forward. It could be Kris Humphries, if they can get him for a reasonable price, but if they can upgrade, do that. The biggest name available on the free agent market is Nene, who probably would come in to play center, with Brook Lopez moving to power forward. If Nene stays put in Denver, which is likely, then the Nets can consider re-signing Humphries, who exploded last season as a player turning himself into a double-digit rebounder. Humphries would have been more intriguing if he was still married to reality star Kim Kardashian, but with that marriage having ended after just 72 days, Humphries is back to just being a 6-foot-9 basketball player, and the Nets can’t be fooled into overvaluing him because of one good year. If Humphries costs too much, the Nets need to find a more sensible option, like, say, Teaneck native David West, who is coming off a knee injury, but, if healthy, would present a better scoring option. 4. Sign their two first round picks, MarShon Brooks and Jordan Williams. Brooks, especially, has a chance to crack the rotation this season as a much-needed shooter, and depending on what happens with Humphries or the power forward spot, Jordan Williams — who signed last week to play in Poland during the lockout — could get some playing time, too. Second round pick Bojan Bogdanovic is playing in Europe this season.

NBA lockout (almost) over
The two parties argued over the revenue split for 149 long days, whilst also bickering over other considerations called ‘system issues’. These issues included matters like the maximum length of contracts and free agency rights. If a truce has been called, it appears both sides have reached some common ground on such issues, with a new split that sees the players receive between 50% to 51% of revenue.

NBA Lockout News: Black Friday Negotiations Could Yield NBA Games By Christmas
Escrow funds are withheld from players’ paychecks to ensure that total salaries do not exceed a pre-determined percentage. The players are willing to have 10 percent withheld, but there is a question of what will happen if those funds do not reduce the players’ share to 50 percent of BRI. Does the shortage carry over into the next season? Do the players have to dip into a different pool of money (pension benefits, group licensing revenues) to make up the difference? This will be a tough nut to crack.

NBA Lockout Ends!
The details of the CBA haven’t fully trickled out yet and it will undoubtedly include some stringent sanctions on teams above the luxury tax which will effect the Mavericks and Mark Cuban. Although the early whispers are that the Mavericks will still be able to re-sign Tyson Chandler which is great news. We’ll focus on what this CBA means for the defending champs soon enough but for now…

With NBA Lockout Over, Kings' Salary Cap Picture Comes Into View
They will sign Jimmer Fredette to a normal rookie scale contract for the No. 10 pick; reports have indicated that the rookie scale will remain flat for the next two seasons. That would put Fredette at $1.9 million in terms of a cap hold and eventual salary. Second-round picks, of which the Kings have two in Tyler Honeycutt and Isaiah Thomas, do not carry cap holds, and neither will sign for more than $800,000 for a full season, in all likelihood.
